CHEMISTRY!

Mariah Carey aims to prove she's got the right mix of scientists on her forthcoming project, E=MC² , the follow up to 2005's Emancipation of Mimi.

The first single from E=MC² is "Touch My Body," written and produced by Carey, C. "Tricky" Stewart, and The-Dream. [ Listen to audio here.]

In addition to C. "Tricky" Stewart and The-Dream, other guest producers joining Mariah on E=MC² will include Jermaine Dupri, DJ Toomp, Stargate, will.i.am, Bryan Michael Cox, Nate "Danjahandz" Hills and James Poyser. E=MC² is executive produced by Carey and Antonio "LA" Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group.

Soulman says... Damn Mariah, I wanna rock with you!

HOW SOON WE FORGET!

5x Grammy award winner, Amy Winehouse is catching hell from music veterans like Natalie Cole.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Cole chides that Winehouse didn't deserve the coveted statues. "I don't think she deserved it," the previous Grammy-winning singer said. "I think she needs to get her life together first, and then get the awards later." [ Read more here.]

Soulman says... Natalie, should we take away your Grammys due to your prior rampant drug use?

WERQ!

Ne-Yo's been burning the midnight oil-- and we are not talking about them midnight marauders at the Compound. Holla if you hear me.

We're talking about his to do list. The recent Grammy award winner recently admitted he's working on Michael Jackson's forthcoming studio CD-- no, not that Thriller reissue. "He's coming up with a new one that I'm working with him on," says Ne-Yo in an exclusive interview with SOHH [ View video here.]

Soulman says... Composing for your idol... sounds off the wall.

HELL TO THE NAH!

It turns out that Isley Brothers lead sing, Ron Isley aka Mr. Biggs won't be released from prison early due to his age and poor health. An appellate court up held his 37 month federal prison sentence for tax evasion.

According to Associated Press, the appellate court said in its ruling that the sentence "best balanced the need to sanction Mr. Isley's 'pathological' tax evasion against the need to accommodate Mr. Isley's poor health." [ Read more here.]

Soulman says... Damn shame.

But while you were reviewing SOHH's Live Grammy Blog [ read recap here] we were jamming to Mariah Carey's new single, "Touch My Body" [ listen to audio here] and watching the video of Janet Jackson's recent NYC listening session for Discipline.
