Funnyman Will Ferrell has given up searching for information about himself online, after discovering groups of Internet film fans who hate him.

The Elf star’s ego took a hard hit when he went surfing online recently because he quickly realised how unpopular he really is.

He says, "I would go online and I’d read one nice comment, then read another nice comment. Then the fourth comment could be, like, ‘I’d like to drag him behind a car.’"
