*Sunday's Grammy ceremony had a little impromptu moment involving country star Vince Gill and rapper Kanye West.
Gill and West were album of the year nominees along with Amy Winehouse, Foo Fighters and eventual winner, Herbie Hancock. During West's acceptance speech for rap album of the year, he looked at Winehouse's producer Mark Ronson in the audience and said that Ronson and the British singer deserve the top album award for their collaborative effort "Back to Black," but only if the rapper fails to get the win himself for his album, "Graduation."
Cut to Vince Gill accepting his country album of the year award from presenter Ringo Starr. Gill looked at Kanye in the audience and said: "I just got an award given to me by a Beatle. Have you had that happen yet, Kanye?"
Reporters were quick to jump on the comment during Gill's visit with the press backstage. He told reporters that the comment was all in good fun and that he has not triggered a new music beef.
"No, he was laughing," Gill said. "I'm a smartass. You know, I can't help it. He seemed to think that he and Amy were the only ones worthy of the album of the year tonight. And I was just having some fun. He laughed, so it was all in good spirit."
