t’s a running joke at this point for a hip hop album to be pushed back, but in a rare move, Interscope Records has announced plans to push Snoop Dogg’s highly-anticipated Ego Trippin’ up.
Ego Trippin’ was scheduled to be released in May, but has been pushed up to March due to the response of the album’s breakout single, “Sensual Seduction,” produced by Atlanta’s Shawty Redd who also wrote some of Snoop’s lyrics for the album.
Snoop has gone on to reveal that part of his inspiration for doing Ego Trippin’, his ninth studio album, came after listening to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black. "[When I'm listening], I'm learning who she is," he told MTV. For his own project, instead of calling in a lone Brit DJ, Snoop went for hip hop and R&B heavy-hitters Pharrell, DJ Quik, Too Short, and Teddy Riley.
Ego Trippin’ will be in stores March 11.
