50 Cent

In this week's Pulse Report the streets are buzzing about 50 Cent leaving a message for Fat Joe, Young Buck feeling the heat from his former hype man, Jay-Z putting Peedi Crakk on the unemployment line, and Juelz Santana remaining neutral in the beef with Jim Jones and Cam'ron.

[Editor Note: The views of this column do not necessarily reflect those of SOHH.com]

1. You Looking For Me? You knew this was coming. After Fat Joe's recent visit to BET's "Rap City," in which he claimed 50 Cent was a hard adversary to find ("He's the kind of guy who makes idle threats ... invites you to a fight and never shows up.") Fif and his G-Unit cronies (Tony Yayo & Lloyd Banks) sent Joey Crack a not so subtle invite.

Call it a warning shot, but the sing-songy diss track "I'm Leaving" leaves no doubt as to where Joe can find Curtis and crew. [Listen here]

Of course Joe was quick to respond to the invitation via an interview with Complex.

"He's looking for attention, I'm gonna diss him," he said. "I'm gonna tell him to suck my d*ck, everything you can think. I'm gonna tell him that. What does he want out of me? He's gonna tell me, 'Oh, Fat Joe, you're a sucka.' This, this, that and I'm gonna be like, 'suck my dick? You punk ass mother f*cker.' And that's it. And then, you know, do a survey and draft to clubs and draft to the ghetto and see who's really out there and who's not. He said, come down to Madison Square Garden and see him or something. Get the f*ck out of here."

And the back and forth continues. What have we actually gained from this verbal tit for tat? Fat Joe is allegedly a millionaire because of it. 50 gave us a decent verse on "Piggy Bank" and this lackluster mixtape filler. This beef needs some adobo.

2. Don't Believe The Hype. In other G-Unit news: Apparently no one told D-Tay-Young Buck's former hype man-that his 15 minutes of residual fame was up. Yes, this is the same D-Tay that allegedly got robbed while flossin Young Buck's G-Unit chain in Chicago a few years ago. Seems like dude is really upset with the Cashville rapper and he's unleashed the ever popular YouTube smear video-attacking Buck's toughness and sexuality. [Watch here]

SMH. How funny was it to see this dude try to pull off a serious interview while one of his crew members was trying to get some sleep in the background? Tossing and turning at that. I was waiting for the moment when the guy in the bed wakes up and snuffs D-Tay and says, "N*gga shut the f*ck up! I'm trying to sleep."

3. Jay-Z Doesn't Care About Rappers. It is now officially a hip-hop trend to hate Jay-Z. Dude has become the George W. Bush of hip-hop. Add State Property MC Peedi Crakk to the list of disgruntled rappers who blame the former Def Jam president for all their ills. After leaking the Jay-Z diss record "Sorry," - which SOHH found out was an old track - Peedi recently went public with the news that he along with Beanie Segal and Freeway were dropped from Roc-A-Fella Records.

Though it looks like Peedi might have been speaking for himself. It seems Beanie & Free are actually still employed by Jay-Z.

Nevertheless, an old unreleased track from Jay-Z dropped Wednesday night (January 30) "Ain't I" and it addressed all the hate. [Listen here]

"I took a pay cut to become an exec so the next mothaf*cka can earn his paycheck/ And even though these n*ggas talk greasy bout me/Ask these n*gga how they gon eat without me," Hov spit.

Listen Peedi, you're a good guy and all, me personally I root for you, because I like seeing the little guy catch a break. But, if I were you I'd bow out of this one gracefully. I know the big guy can be a douche bag at times, but let it go. Forgetaboutit! No one's going to notice you're not on the Roc anyway. No harm no foul, buddy.

4. Family Affair. What's really good with the Dipset? It's common knowledge that Cam'ron and Jim Jones aren't bosom buddies anymore and there were even rumors of Jones and Juelz Santana defecting to G-Unit. But Juelz recently sat down with MTV and answered the questions about the divide in his crew.

"In a family you always going to have problems...I feel like the whole Jim and Cam situation kinda got blown out of proportion," he said, going on to add, "I love Cam. I love Jim Jones"

Juelz and Jim also sat down to talk about the state of New York hip-hop with The Parker Report. [Watch here]

Another Jay-Z dig.

5. Southern Rappers Don't Want To See New York Win. The Super Bowl XLII is going down this weekend in Arizona with the New York Giants vs. the New England Patriots. To get a feel for which team hip-hop was rooting for SOHH polled a group of rappers for predictions on a winner. Guess what team most of the Southern rappers picked - the New England Patriots.

Are you kidding me? You ungrateful bamas! After all we've done for you here in the Big Apple.

When you guys wanted to become the dominant force in hip-hop; who got wack for you? We did. New York that's who.

And this is how ya'll repay us-rooting for the Patriots.
