*"American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard has filed a $45,000 breach of contract lawsuit against a concert promoter called Peachez Inc.
The singer, whom Gladys Knight famously christened The Velvet Teddy Bear during his "Idol" run, sued the Dallas-based company in New York Supreme Court, reports TMZ.com. No further details were given regarding the nature of the lawsuit.
Peachez describes itself as "a specialty marketing company" with clients in the "entertainment industry."
As previously reported, Studdard has been dropped from his deal with J Records. However, he'll remain busy this year starring opposite fellow "Idol" alum Frenchie Davis in a touring company of the hit musical "Ain't Misbehavin'."
