Steve Azar

Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ BMI) - Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) honored hit singer/songwriter Steve Azar with the "Million-Air" certificate during a recent visit last week.

The "Special Citation of Achievement" was presented to Azar in recognition of two million broadcast performances of his debut single, "I Don't Have To Be Me ('Til Monday)" from the 2001 album Waitin' On Joe. The song, co-written by Azar, made it to No. 2 on Billboard's country music singles charts and stayed on the survey for the third longest period of time in Billboard history.

Azar is presently in the studio working on a new album with Grammy nominated producer Justin Neibank (Vince Gill, LeAnn Rimes, Blues Traveler). Additionally, Azar will soon release the long-awaited album, Indianola. Both projects are scheduled for release in 2008.
