Not only will singer Beyonce Knowles not have to cross a picket line to get to this year’s Grammy Awards (the Writer’s Guild of America announced they won't picket the ceremony), but she’ll get to the other side for a performance with legendary Tina Turner. According to ContactMusic.com, Bey is a longtime fan of Turner. She performed “Proud Mary” in front of Turner during the 2005 Kennedy honors celebration. The duet will be Turner’s first public performance since she announced her retirement in 2000.

Though the WGA has not announced whether they will allow writers to provide content for the show (broadcasting live Feb. 10), singer/songwriter Jill Scott is at least one artist who's relieved that pickets won't be there. The triple nominee told the Associated Press she had mixed feelings about attending. “I feel torn, because I'm a writer," the singer/songwriter/actress said earlier this week. “I feel like I'm caught in the middle.

“American Idol” is officially back on TV and musician/producer Randy Jackson is committed to breaking the musical mold. The recently named senior A&R consultant of Concord Music Group/Stax Records has released a new collection of music’s most popular vocalists. The 12-track album, Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Vol. 1, includes collaborative cuts from Three 6 Mafia with Joss Stone; Mariah Carey with Bebe Winans, Kim Burrell, Rance Allen, Hezekiah Walker & The Love Fellowship and Angie Stone with Sam Moore and Keb’ Mo’.  Idol co-host Paula Abdul also appears on the album with her first new recording in more than 10 years. “This was an opportunity to bring together an amazing roster of artists and make a kind of potpourri of all the things I love,” Jackson told Billboard.com. “At the end of the day, I’m a song guy – and working on these songs has been a way to express my passion for music, which has never been stronger.” Randy Jackson’s Music Club, Vol. 1 is out Mar. 11 via Jackson’s label, Dream Merchant. Jackson also is producing a dance competition show for MTV, “America’s Best Dance Crew.” “You Got Served” choreographer Shane Sparks and rapper Lil' Mama will be among the judges for eight competing crews. Taping begins with a live casting this Saturday (Jan. 26).

Speaking of Lil' Mama, the pint-sized rapper is also launching a personalized online video channel in a partnership with the New York-based Sandbox TV. LilMama.tv. has exclusive content showing the teenaged artist on the grind –- on tour with Chris Brown; at a Manhattan "Stay in School" concert; a Bust magazine photo shoot, and selecting artwork for “Lip Gloss,” the lead single from her soon to be relesed debut album, Voice of the Young People. Sandbox TV also has a channel with rapper Saigon.

Singer KeKe Wyatt will take the stage at S.O.B.’s in NYC tonight performing new songs from her forthcoming CD, Ghetto Rose. The album is her first release since her 2001 Soul Sista. An interim album she recorded, Emotional Rollercoaster, was ultimately shelved.
