Skillz

In an up-coming interview with HHNLive.com, Skillz (formerly Mad Skillz) talks in-depth about his beef with NBA star (and sometimes rapper) Shaquille O'Neal.

Skillz and Shaquille O'Neal traded a series of diss records back and forth to each other a few years ago (for more info check out MTV.com ). When asked about how the whole beef went down, Skillz had this to say:

"To be honest with you, to this day, I still don't know. A couple of times we've been in the same place, but for some reason, we never really crushed it. I got invited to an Usher party in Miami and he had just left. Then another time, I was at a Dwayne Wade fundraiser and he didn't show. Don't get me wrong, man. I don't really want no credit for lyrically beating Shaq...I don't want no credit for that. It's not like Shaq is lyrically equal to Eminem or Nas or one of the greats. That was just me beating on somebody that I knew couldn't fuck with me. The same way if I tried to make a basket, he would be bullying the shit out of me! To this day, to answer your question in a nutshell, I don't know...maybe somebody should ask him what I said that made him diss me 'cause you know he dissed me first. I was responding to his diss. When I dissed him and I put Ben Wallace, who I know some of his people from VA...then I put Ben Wallace on a song and Ben Wallace and 'em had just beat them, then he's coming out wit' all kinds of songs and this, that, and the third...so I made a whole mixtape! I'm an asshole! I overdo it. I go hard. When I'm fuckin' wit' somebody or a nigga piss me off, I go hard to make fun of you."

And was Skillz worried the beef would ever turn physical?:

"Of course not! Let's say I'm in New York and I'm at the Knicks game and he see me like, 'What?' It doesn't make sense. It's fun. It's lyrical, we kept it on wax...not that I ever thought that it would escalate to anything else. It's not that I'm physically scared of him. I know he's not stupid or nothin' to even think about takin' it outside of that. I don't know about his homies or whoever ride for him or look out for him, but that's not my forte, man. He should've never jumped in the muhfuckin' pool! My thing was this...I already know you got more cake than me. We already know that. You're more famous than me. We already know that, but there's one thing that I know that you can't fuck me in and that's rappin'. That's why when you listen to that CD, all I was doin' was makin' fun of him rappin'. I never said if I see you on the block, I'm gonna have my homies cock somethin' back and handle that...what I look like tellin' Shaq I'm gonna get him shot? That's stupid. I'm realistic. I'm a realistic nigga and the bottom line is you can't fuck wit' me on the mic! Period! And that's all that mixtape was about."
