Martha Stewart’s lifestyle company has been named in a bizarre lawsuit by a Pennysylvania couple who claim the star’s line of dinnerware has given their children lead poisoning. Acting on behalf of their two children, Sandra and Raymond Dombroski filed legal papers against Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in Pennysylvania earlier this week (ends18Jan08), alleging their kids, Michael and Matthew, suffered "mental, emotional and cognitive impairment" from the use of the Martha Stewart Everyday range of crockery. The Dombroskis go on to claim their sons developed a "learning disability", in addition to speech problems and physical impairment as a result of lead in the reportedly defective dinnerware, which was purchased from a K-Mart store in June 2001. K-Mart’s parent company, Sears Holdings Corporation, has also been named in the lawsuit. The Dombroskis are seeking compensation and damages on counts of negligence, liability and breach of warranty, according to TMZ.com.
