THE WIRE actor MICHAEL K. WILLIAMS missed his own premiere party after a doorman refused to let all his friends in.

Williams, who plays Omar Little on the U.S. police drama, arrived at Le Royale in New York last Friday (5Jan08) for the show’s season premiere with eight male friends - but was denied entry by security.

A source told the New York Post’s PageSix, "The doorman told him he couldn’t let a big group in, but could let in two people." "Williams said, ‘All of us need to get in,’ and one of his friends added ‘This is Michael from ‘The Wire’ and this is ‘The Wire’ party’." But the doorman wouldn’t relent and Williams and his pals were forced to leave, spending the rest of the night at The Plumm nightclub, while stars including Leelee Sobieski partied at the premiere.
