Things aren't looking so well for Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel. The Roc-a-fella rapper who's latest effort,
"The Solution," isn't making much noise on the charts, was briefly arrested yesterday, Wednesday, January 9th, 2008.
According to CNN, U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick ordered the rapper to spend a day in jail and extended his probation by 18 months after finding out that Sigel took an unauthorized trip to Atlantic City, New Jersey, and had contact with a convicted felon.
The judge, who could have sent Sigel back to prison for 9 months, ordered Sigel to live in a half way house in Philadelphia for six months where he can still work on his music but can not travel to promote it.
"I'm human, but I'm working on my mistakes," Sigel told the Judge. "I do believe that other people do get a chance to go back into society and do the work that they do."
Sigel admitted to taking the unauthorized trip but denied ever being in contact with a convicted felon.
However, according to CNN, a probation officer testified Wednesday that he saw the pair together at the home of Sigel's mother.
This comes as another discouraging obstacle to the rapper who has recently expressed his dissatisfaction with Def Jam records.
Sigel was originally sentenced to 2 years probation on January 10, 2006, after being convicted of assault for a fight in 2003.
