Faith Hill will join a cast of jazz, R&B and gospel stars during musical tributes to Aretha Franklin during the upcoming MusiCares gala in Los Angeles. The Recording Academy has named Franklin this year's MusiCares person of the year. Others performing during the tribute include Fantasia, Ledisi, John Legend, Patti Austin, Shirley Caesar, Herbie Hancock and the Blues Brothers (Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi). Attendees are expected to include Bill Cosby and actor Blair Underwood. Scheduled for Feb. 8 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the MusiCares gala is a major event leading up to the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10. MusiCares provides assistance for music industry people in times of financial, medical or personal need.
