Actress RENEE ZELLWEGER has slammed the Hollywood clubbing scene - because fame-hungry girls like PARIS HILTON use partying to launch themselves as celebrities.

The Bridget Jones' Diary star is unsympathetic to Los Angeles' new breed of socialites-turned-screen stars.

When asked what she thinks of hotel heiress Hilton, the 38-year-old says, "I can't bear that scene."

"People work so hard to get where they are in this business, so it makes me angry when I see someone making a mockery of what we do, just trying to make five bucks."
