RINGO STARR's new album will double as a fashion accessory - the former BEATLE is releasing LIVERPOOL 8 as a pre-loaded USB wristband.

The Yellow Submarine rocker will also release his latest solo disc on CD and as a digital download, but it's the limited edition wristband version which is exciting fans the most.

The USB wristband will contain extras including a personal video message from and in interview with Starr, a making-of documentary, mobile phone ring tones and photos.

Liverpool 8 pays tribute to the area of Liverpool, England where Starr grew up.
