R&B superstar MARY J. BLIGE has offered her support to newly-pregnant star JAMIE-LYNN SPEARS - and has begged her to be a responsible parent.

Britney Spears' 16-year-old sister confirmed reports on Tuesday (18Dec07) she was expecting her first child, and Blige hopes the younger Spears will be a good role model for her kids.

She tells MTV.com, "Stay strong, baby girl. If that's her choice (to keep the baby), then congratulations. (I) hope she's responsible, and I hope she understands what that brings." You have to change your lifestyle up, so (your children) can look at you as an example. It's all about Mommy being an example, Jamie. That's what it's about."
