Rap mogul DAMON DASH has dismissed allegations by a woman who claims he turned her into a schizophrenic when he exposed himself to her during a meeting in 2004.
Dash was hit with a lawsuit in relation to the reported incident by Jamie Roberts, from Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this month (Dec07).
The 24-year-old claims she met Dash - who was using the name Jeremy McIntyre - in a club in Miami, Florida, in March 2004. They left the club and went on to a nearby marina, where he allegedly flashed "his genital area" in an "offensive manner" and tried to coerce her into giving him oral sex, according to legal papers filed in New York’s Manhattan Supreme Court.
Nine months after the meeting, Roberts claims she "began to hear (the) defendant’s voice in her ear, giving her certain directions to follow". She also alleges the meeting resulted in her being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Roberts admits she was unaware of Dash’s real identity at the time of the reported incident, and only realised who he was when she later spotted him making a guest appearance on hit U.S. comedy programme, The Chapelle Show.
But Dash has denied any knowledge of such a lawsuit.
In a statement to the New York Post newspaper, he says, "We know nothing about it. It’s quite obvious this is a false allegation." Roberts is seeking $30,000 (£15,000) in compensation and punitive damages
