Hot off the press this week Mary J. Blige braves the storm without her umbrella, Bow Wow hearts Omarion and Janet Jackson gets some discipline after mixing business with pleasure.

QUITE CONTRARY!

On the cusp of releasing her 8th studio CD, Growing Pains, the queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, flipped her wig recently when asked by Entertainment Weekly about her decision to not record one of the most successful songs of 2007, "Umbrella."

''I'm not going to chase what [mainstream] fans like; it might work for a Mariah. It might work for even a Beyoncé. But Mary J. Blige is looked at as some sort of organic thing,'' barked Mary about passing off the song that was picked up by Rihanna and later went on to score two Grammy nominations. [Read more here.]

Soulman... Since Mary didn't have to go there... I'll act like she didn't say it. DANG! Rihanna is having the best luck as the clean up woman. Wasn't ''S.O.S.'' a song passed off by another artist that she later took to the #1 spot?

BONNIE & CLYDE '08?

Omarion and Bow Wow seem like the match made in heaven. And for the most part, they sound like it too. Although Face Off, their new joint CD ain't half bad, despite all the anxiety that Jermaine Dupri wasn't involved, that's not what we're referring to.

What we're talking about is how much more vocal and emotional Bow Wizzle is being about his relationship with Omarion, more than he was about his relationship with Ciara.

Recently Bow Wow stood up for his man Omarion when BET's Toure played a poorly timed joke on O during an interview. [View video here.]

Soulman sings... ''Stand by your man...''

LOVE IS A LOSING GAME!

When you've done wrong, you should be punished-taught a lesson. It's seems Janet Jackson is making up for the tragically mediocre 20Y.O. by instituting some self inflicted Discipline, the titled of her forthcoming CD on Island Def Jam.

The first single ''Feedback'' -the very same one we forewarned you all about last week-- is produced by hit maker Rodney Jerkins, and is touted as the most successful leak in music history, making its way onto millions of blogs. [Read more here.]

Soulman says... Damn. I wonder how JD feels about other men handling his woman better than he does. Come on... ain't "Feedback" what he was aiming for with ''So Excited?''

WTF? CHRONICLES

Over the past few days we've heard some pretty interesting things. We pride ourselves on having our ear to the ground; so as to catch every whisper that quickly becomes a rumor which could easily become tomorrow's scandal. This week we said to ourselves, ''WTF?'' when we heard that Karrine ''Superhead'' Steffans scored a record deal via Eddie Murphy. We also heard that although Michael Jackson is losing parts of his face, he isn't losing his fortune as everyone suspected. Lastly-- although shocking, this comes as no surprise-- we just heard that Amy Winehouse was arrested for interfering with her husband's assault case.

Soulman says... As always, since this is all hearsay and or still developing, don't go quoting us... yet.
