Actor ALEC BALDWIN has offered to stage the Golden Globe Awards in his living room if the Hollywood writers’ strike is not resolved by the middle of January (08).
See Also:Many nominees have vowed not to cross picket lines if striking writers choose to protest at the event, and the show’s organisers from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association are desperately trying to reach an agreement with those behind the walk-out. But Baldwin has come up with a plan to stage the awards show at his Manhattan home - just in case a deal isn’t done and the strike lingers on into the New Year. In a posting on blog site The Huffington Post, Baldwin writes, "I have cleared all of this with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. "They make only one simple request and that is that you pre-order your meal selection NO LATER than Friday, January 4th, 2008." The actor offers tuna Salad, whitefish salad or egg salad as a food option and a "liter of red or white wine or 6 (six) cold bottles of Amstel (promotional) complimentary." He also jokes that New York street personality Radioman will host the red carpet show held in the parking lot of (restaurant) Tavern on the Green "before we are all shuttled to my apartment building." Baldwin, who is nominated for a Best Actor prize for his role in TV comedy 30 Rock, concludes his comic posting by stating, "Looking forward to seeing you all on January 13th at my place."
