Plies manager David Lee Gay Jr. was arrested yesterday (Dec. 11) after police seized more than 80 pounds of cocaine.
According to Tampa Bay Online, Gay was arrested Tuesday night.
An affidavit states that from Sept. 21 through Nov. 12, Gay entered into an agreement to distribute cocaine, a criminal arrest affidavit states. It is alleged that six times during this period Gay received and sold a half kilogram to a kilogram of cocaine.
Police executed a search warrant on Gay's home and found a 9 mm Taurus handgun along with marijuana according to the affidavit.
A co-defendant who was also arrested, Eleazar Gutierrez-Castillo, has agreed to cooperate with authorities. It is said that Castillo was arrested earlier Tuesday for allegedly trying to sell cocaine to an undercover police officer.
Both Gay and Castillo are currently in an Orient Road jail with no bail set.
Gay has been charged with possession of cocaine, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, armed trafficking, racketeering and several conspiracy charges.
Gay is an employee of Isabomb Entertainment and manager to Atlantic Records recording artist Plies.
