A judge on Tuesday (December 11) denied a request made by Corey "C-Murder" Miller to allow him to attend Pimp C's funeral in Port Arthur, Tx. Miller, who has been under house arrest while awaiting his re-trial on murder charges, had requested permission to drive to Texas this week for the funeral and to spend nine days in Houston with his children. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Judge Martha Sassone denied both of the requests, saying the rapper's children would have to travel to his home in Kenner, La. The judge also urged the defense and the prosecution to resolve any outstanding issues, including a motion from Miller's attorney seeking to dismiss the case, prior to the start of the new trial on February 11. Miller stands accused of shooting 16 year-old Steve Thomas to death at the Platinum Club in 2002. Judge Sassone will hear arguments on the outstanding motion to dismiss on January 16.
