Movie hunk MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY was among the mourners who spoke at legendary daredevil EVEL KNIEVEL's funeral in Butte, Montana on Monday (10Dec07).

The Sahara star was among the 10,000 people who packed into the Butte Civic Center in Knievel's hometown to pay tribute to the stuntman, who died at the end of last month (30Nov07).

McConaughey, who befriended Knievel during the final years of his life and hosted a History Channel tribute, said, "He's forever in flight now and you know what, he don't have to come back down." Boxing legend Joe Frazier also spoke at the memorial service.
