Courtney Love is so protective of her teenage daughter Frances Bean, she has banned her from pursuing a career in the spotlight. The 43-year-old singer was alleged to have used heroin during her pregnancy with Frances, now 15, whose father was late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

But she now insists she's a model parent, and would "never, ever" allow her daughter to follow in the footsteps of either of herself or Cobain.

She says, "I am a good mother, and the proof is in the pudding. I would never, ever put Franny on television. I would never let her do press. She has been offered the lead in four films, and was offered a campaign for Tommy Hilfiger, and I tell her about these offers, but she wants to be a political journalist anyway, so... I don't think any kid has been more wanted by both her parents and I don't think any parents have ever wanted to f--- up less than we did."
