Veteran actress SHIRLEY MacLAINE has blamed LINDSAY LOHAN's wild behaviour on her "addiction to fame".

The 73-year-old was due to star with Lohan in new movie Poor Things, but production on the crime drama had to be postponed after the Mean Girls star checked into rehab earlier this year (07) to kick her drug habit. And the Oscar winner is convinced the Hollywood lifestyle has inflated Lohan's ego.

She says, "I don't know what's going on, maybe lack of parenting skills and no boundaries. I think the addiction to fame is a disease.

"Some of these girls are addicted to having their picture in magazines."
