*Elin Nordegren Woods, the wife of superstar golfer Tiger Woods, has settled her legal issues with a magazine in Dublin, Ireland that ran a nude photo of a woman it claimed was her.

The matter was settled Friday in Irish High Court, where the former model had sued Dubliner Magazine for libel.

In a statement, Nordegren Woods said the magazine and its publisher Trevor White had apologized "unreservedly, completely, and unequivocally" to her, and has agreed to pay her 125,000 euros ($183,000) in damages, according to RTE state radio.

She plans to donate the award to charities supporting cancer research in honor of the late Heather Clarke, wife of Irish golfer Darren Clarke who died from breast cancer.

Dubliner Magazine published the nude photo in its September 2006 issue when her husband was in Ireland playing on behalf of the U.S. in the Ryder Cup. Her statement described the article as "cheap, tasteless, and deliberately offensive. It was also completely untrue."

"The false and deeply offensive article in The Dubliner magazine, with the accompanying photograph of another woman wrongly claimed to be me, caused great personal distress to me and my family.

"This regrettable episode in our lives in no way detracts from the great love of Ireland that Tiger and I share. We look forward to experiencing the extraordinary warmth of its people and of our many friends in Ireland again in the future," she said.
