*An arrest has been made in the murder case involving the childhood friend of rapper Fabolous.
Anthony Taylor, 26, was taken into custody in Atlanta for allegedly stabbing 25-year-old Shamel McKinney outside of Duvet, a trendy club in the city's troubled Flatiron district, reports Allhiphop.com.
According to police, McKinney was a member of Fabolous' Street Family, a group of alleged criminals that robbed celebrities and entertainers of their expensive jewelry. But Fabolous, whose real name is John Jackson, denies that he is involved with such a group.
"I would like my fans and supporters worldwide to know how disappointed I am in some of the media for the misrepresentation and abuse of my name," Fabolous told AllHipHop.com in a statement. "I do not want the young people who listen to my music and watch my videos to believe that I am engaged in any illegal activities that would discredit my character."
Authorities believe that McKinney may have attempted to snatch Taylor's $10,000 chain on Nov. 23, which resulted in a scuffle between the two men inside the club.
When the altercation spilled outside, Taylor allegedly stabbed McKinney in the chest and back with a 7-inch switchblade knife that was eventually found in a dumpster near the club.
