KFDM News in Port Arthur, Texas has spoken with the mother of the late Pimp C about his sudden death this week at a Los Angeles hotel.
"Actually, we have very little idea of what happened," said Weslyn "Mama Wes" Monroe. "C's business manager found his body in his hotel room in Los Angeles and we know he died in his sleep. Past that, we don't know anything."

"This is a terrible shock," she added. "Mama is just a little tougher than most, but I break too."

Mrs. Monroe said she has received support and condolences from family, friends, artists and other celebrities.

"The phone won't stop ringing. It feels good, if anything can feel good now," she said.

Pimp C, a member of the rap duo UGK with Bun B, was found dead in his room at the Mondrian Hotel on the Sunset Strip. The 33-year-old is survived by his wife and three children.
