JIMI HENDRIX

*Jimi Hendrix memorabilia is still in hot demand, judging from a recent Christie's auction of rock 'n' roll memorabilia.

Someone had a winning bid of $20,000 for a copy of Hendrix's 1968 "Axis: Bold as Love" album, which was inscribed "Thanks for everything" and accompanied by three color photos of the rock star. The set of items sold for double its pre-sale estimate of $10,000.

Three cardboard posters for Hendrix concerts in 1968 and 1969 sold for $10,625, $16,250 and $18,750.

The biggest-selling item after Hendrix's memorabilia was a limited edition, long-sleeved sweater designed to promote the Stones' 1973 "Goat's Head Soup" album, which went for $4,750. Only about a dozen of them were ever produced.

Rock t-shirts featuring images related to the Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin and John Lennon' song "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)," sold for between $1,000 and $3,000.
