Can U Dig It? Shit, I can. And what I'm diggin is "The Pretty Toney Album" by Toney Starks aka Ghostface Killah of the Wu Tang Clan. Yes, it's true that the Ghost has had a label change (he's moved over to Def Jam), but in all honesty this versatile lyricist shows no signs of switchin' up his style so you would never even know the difference. The album is 18 cuts deep, 5 of which are skits. Altogether, the album flows nicely and smoothly straight from the start. Even from the intro Ghostface makes it clear that he's still doing it the way he always has and that he is unfuckwitable. That is evidenced by each and every track he spits on, not to mention that all of the beats have that sweet rugged-old-time-feel to 'em as well. The producers on the album include Emile, True Master, Rza, Minnesota, No ID, K Def, D. Trotman, Dub Dot z, Digga, Nottz, and Ghostface himself. The album features an All-star guest list that includes appearances by Missy Elliot, Jadakiss, Musiq Soulchild, Styles P, Trife, Sheek Louch, Jackie-O, and K. Fox. Some stand out tracks are "Beat The Clock", "It's Over", "Tush" (hot club shit feat. Missy Elliot), "Last Night" (skit), "Holla" ( hilarious and tight just becuz Ghost spits over the full version of 'La-La (Means I Love You)' by the Delfonics), "Be This Way" (for the gangstas), "Tooken Back" (feat. Jackie-O) , "Run" (feat. Jadakiss) (*side note* "Run" is moz def some of the hottest shit out right now), and for the sentimental there's "Love" (feat. Musiq and K. Fox). Overall, this whole album shines, not to mention that it has some potentially classick tracks that can stand alone. Old heads will definitely love it and so will the new. So if you love hip hop and especially the Wu, you definitely need to add this album to your musical rotation ASAP. Out.See Also:
