Grooveattack has quickly come to the top shelf of hip-hop "connoisseurship" in two years. An international pool of hip-hop heads enjoyed the first Superrappin compilation. Their strategy of combining some of the best "underground" artists along with masters like Biz Markie and Pete Rock is providing premium usage of the ear. Volume two is a bunch of appetizers served on cold wax and silver discs. Kali Wild comes with drama making beats rise so high noses bleed. Pete Rock and Grand Agent have badass strings pumping up the scenario for the b-boy spaghetti western. Jingle bell acoustic bass jazz roughly meanders around Loer Veocity's "Carolina Skies." Angels singing for heaven surrounds Gauge on his emergence from the Cella Dwellas. It's an ongoing celebration of the independents never losing energy. DJ Roddy Rod 's creative release of tumbling gongs in the washing machine about to bust is unbroken cerebral pounding under the Maspyke spell. One thing to note about this obscure pull of American artists is the fact that it is a German label distributing a sample of their messages. This is a part of the world long noted for its quality machines, cars and beers. Superrappin' proves that Germans also appreciate tight mc and producer structures.
