Hip Hop is a culture of many dimensions. We have the hardcore tales of street life, educational and empowering voices of revolution and the glamorously flamboyant materialism to name a few. Then on the other hand we have Akinyele and his Anakonda style.
See Also:From the Spawn of Short Dog have come many an emcee with tales of tail - and Akinyele's latest offering does just this with down dirty butt-naked sex driven porn style Hip Hop. With genitals, a microphone and a female in his clutches, Ak (pronounced "ock") delivers another underground gem, Anakonda. Yeah, he's rappin' about what C. Delores Tucker would call smut, but if any emcee other than Short and Devin can pull of the unique witticisms to lyrically raise the eyebrows of this know it all Hip Hop generation it is Akinyele and his latest album proves just that. Ever since his classic ode to oral sex "Put It In Your Mouth" was unleashed in '96 to the undernourished libidos of young folk, Ak has written his own ticket with some of the rawest punch lines in the lyrical realm - and yeah, he keeps it nasty. His fourth album, Anakonda, is the soundtrack to his film of the same title. With Anakonda expect even more verbal nudity upon the listener's frail ears - and the listener definitely needs to be over 18 years old or a member of the mature audience. Tracks like "Pimps and Hoes" have an overused generic title, but the production and clever lyric combinations employed by Ak are what makes his world of sex and sin so entertaining and funny. One thing about Ak that so-called Hip Hop purists claim to dislike about some tracks is the use of hooks and melodic singing. The hooks are a strongpoint for Ak's latest offering. No doubt, Akinyele has more hooks than a fisherman, but since when does singing disqualify an artist from the Hip Hop community? The hooks, though raunchy, compliment Ak's subject matter to the 'T' and Christine McClean should be getting thick pockets with her vocals on the nymphomaniac driven "I Like" and the freaky tales tribute "Do You Wanna?" Anakonda is a sexual journey navigated by a lyrical champ who makes this nasty material comical and at times provocative with tracks like "Love My B@*^$" which chronicles a female's first lesbian experience. Even with all of the entertainment, Akinyele's big snake isn't for all to handle, and it is definitely to be avoided by all hand-holding in-love types. Anakonda is for the freak in you - back-seat-of-the-Cutlass-with- your-somebody-after-the-club type music. Like the snake in Eden, Anakonda contains the corruptively entertaining venom to make private school girls go public, and at the same time it will wear out the rewind button of curious listeners that want to hear what this pervert is coming with. And he is coming. For the promiscuous lyricists only, Anakonda delivers limited subject matter, but the creativity and thought provoking lyrics are anything but that. Don't sleep or he might put it back in ya mouth baybee! Related Videos:
